2010 Turkish Grand Prix Preview & Betting

The seventh round of the 2010 Formula 1 World Championship will take place this weekend, as the Istanbul Park hosts the 2010 Turkish Grand Prix.

The Turkish capital will see the elite F1 drivers and constructors head to the city for Friday’s practice sessions, with qualifying taking place on Saturday afternoon, and the 58-lap race starting at 3pm on this Sunday the 30th of May.

Heading into the race as favourite to claim the chequered flag is Sebastian Vettel at $2.62.

Currently heading into the race as favourite to claim the chequered flag is Sebastian Vettel at $2.62.

The Red Bull driver won the 2010 Malaysian Grand Prix in April, and after finishing second in the previous race, could well be a safe bet.

Vettel is currently sitting second on the leadership board behind teammate Mark Webber – although the two are equal on 78 points.

Australian Webber has won the previous two races, most recently the 2010 Monaco Grand Prix, where the Red Bull duo made it a one-two finish for the team.

Being one of only two F1 drivers to have won more than a single race at this point of the Championship, the Aussie is a worthy wager at $3.20.

McLarens’ Jenson Button is the other driver to have claimed two races – and heads into the 2010 Turkish Grand Prix at a lucrative $15, which could certainly be a good punt.

Lewis Hamilton – teammate to Button and the 2008 driver’s champion, has not yet topped the podium, and will hope this weekend can provide him with his first win for 2010 as he heads to Turkey at $7.

Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso is currently third on the leadership board, and having won the opening race of the season heads into this weekend at $6.50 to emerge victorious once again.

It is no surprise, with the dominance Vettel and Webber have had over the Championship of late, that Red Bull are heading into the weekend as the favourite to emerge as the winning team at $1.62.

Ferrari are next closest in the odds as $4.50, while McLaren are at $5.
