Hamilton Wins His First Grand Prix For 2010 In Turkey

The 2010 F1 World Championship Series headed to Turkey over the weekend for the seventh round of the year, and saw dominance by Britain and McLaren as the team made it a one-two win.

The 2008 driver’s champion Lewis Hamilton, topped his first podium of the year at the Istanbul Park.

The 2008 driver’s champion Lewis Hamilton, topped his first podium of the year at the Istanbul Park, while teammate Jenson Button came in second.

Australia’s Red Bull driver Mark Webber claimed the pole position once again, and led for the majority of the 58 laps, with Hamilton behind.

Webber’s teammate Sebastien Vettel moved in to second soon into the race, and in attempting to take the lead nipped Webber, and saw his 2010 Turkish Grand Prix come to an end – while Webber finished third.

It was a fantastic battle between the two McLaren drivers – proving teammate rivalry is often the fiercest, with Hamilton eventually claiming the top spot.

Webber is still topping the championship points sitting five clear of Button, who is four points ahead of Hamilton.

In the team championship points, there is just a single point between the two top dogs, with McLaren ahead on 172, while Red Bull are on 171.
