The Marina Bay Street Circuit, which spans the bay of the city of Singapore, is a motor racing street track and is home territory for the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix.

The circuit is 5.067 kilometres in length, with a total of 23 turns throughout its course, and due to the harsh weather conditions the location presents, is often thought of as a demanding circuit on the F1 calendar.

Added to the Formula One World Championship annual schedule in 2008, the inaugural meet at the Marina Bay Street Circuit was the first F1 event to take place at night time, and saw Renault’s Fernando Alonso the original winner.

The Marina Bay Street Circuit can play host for up to 80,000 spectators in its temporary grandstands, and in its short lifespan as part of the F1 World Championship, the event has become quite a feature on the schedule.

The fastest time the Marina Bay Street Circuit has seen was 1.45.599, set by Kimi Räikkönen in 2008, racing with Ferrari.
